Life can be cruel and unfair sometimes. It happens; that’s just life. People get thrown curveballs when they least expect it and are least prepared. Sometimes these unexpected challenges drastically change a person’s life forever. But what can a person do about it? They can hate it and fight it for the rest of their lives being bitter, angry, and resentful, or, they can accept it and move on and make the most of what they’ve got. This does not mean to move on passively, but actively, getting what they want out of life rather than complaining about what they’ve lost.

How a person deals with the situation is important. They can try to make the best of things, make the best of what they have. It is important to make the most of what you’ve got, especially when you have very little.  At least with a positive attitude they have a chance of being happy. People have got to realize that there are just some things that they have no control over and can’t change no matter how hard they try. You’ve just got to accept it and make the best of it instead of trying to fight it and getting nowhere. Life is much easier if you let yourself live rather than trying to fight it.

Challenges in life don’t make life any easier, but they don’t make being happy impossible either. Challenges just make enjoying life a little more difficult. You can still come out of it on top and with a smile. You are only defeated once it has gotten the better of you. Life can be a struggle, but it doesn’t have to be. Your attitude determines how difficult your life is; you can make it much more difficult than it has to be.

I just wanted to add: Even if you lost yourself because of something happening you can always come to terms. Seven years ago I lost my sister and until a few weeks ago my smiles were empty and I could not feel everything around me. The only things that I was searching for were ways out. Then I was placed as caretaker for my father and I saw the centuries that he did not face and what it had done to him, so I forced myself to go back and feel what I had refused to.
My past only makes things harder not impossible.
