Smile 🙂 . When was the last time you smiled? That is too long ago. Smile right now, even if you have to fake it. Think about something you like or something funny. Are you smiling yet?

Smile as much as you can. Smile until your cheeks hurt. You’ll feel better and happier if you smile, even if you don’t know why. You are more pleasant to be around when you are smiling.

Smiling is not difficult. Smiling is good for you; smiling is important. Practice it and soon it will be very easy. It will be difficult not to smile.

Make other people smile. I love to make other people smile. It feels good. The best way to get a smile out of someone is to be friendly and compliment them. Try to make everybody you talk to smile. You are more likable when smiling, and even more likable when you make other people smile. They will enjoy your company and want to be around you.

Always be polite and courteous, especially when somebody upsets you. It make be difficult to smile, but try anyways. The time that is most important to smile is when you don’t feel like smiling; it is more important to try to smile when you’re not happy than when you are happy. Try to smile when you’re having a bad day, it may just brighten your day for you.

Have a good day,

Eric 🙂

I’ve Got Nothing to Complain About…

Posted on May 27, 2008. Filed under: Happiness, Inspirational, Life, Me, You | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

I’m not allowed to complain about anything; I won’t let myself. Its simple: A lot of people have it a whole lot worse than I do or ever did. I am lucky and fortunate to have what I do, no matter what it is. Be happy with what you’ve got. There are worse things in life.

Days are too short to spend complaining. Don’t ruin your day by being miserable. You can always find something to complain about, but you don’t have to. Complaining about something only makes you feel worse, never better. You’ll never be happy if all you do is complain about how bad things are. It’s time to stop complaining and start living. Start by saying that you’ve got nothing to complain about and don’t listen to others when they complain. Negativity is contagious, but so is a positive attitude. 🙂

There is always something to be positive about and thankful and grateful for. Appreciate what you have instead of complaining about what you don’t have.

Thanks for reading and enjoy you day,

Eric 🙂

The Only Way To Live is Enthusiastically

Posted on May 26, 2008. Filed under: Happiness, Inspirational, Life | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

Living energetically is the only way to live. If you are going to do it, you might as well be enthusiastic about it and enjoy it.

Doing what you are passionate about helps as well. It is easy for me to be energetic about something I care a lot about.

I used to be the compete opposite, putting as little energy into things as I could. Well, you get out of life what you put into it. Being energetic is definitely a better way to live. It is much easier and more enjoyable. It is more rewarding; it is truly living instead of just passing time until you’re dead.

I make a point of being positive. Life works better that way.

Sometimes people say that I’m way too happy. Sometimes I respond by asking them what it means to be way too happy, other times I just say that being happy is the only way to live.

Please post your comments, I always appreciate it when somebody has something to say.

Eric 🙂

What are Those Birds Singing For?

Posted on May 26, 2008. Filed under: Happiness, Inspirational, Life, You | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

What reason do they have to sing? Why are they singing? Because they are cheerful. They are happy to be alive. The sun is shining and the weather is nice so they sing in celebration of life. They are in a good mood; they’re enjoying life.

They don’t care if its only 4:00 in the morning. To them, its the beginning of another day. They don’t care that your alarm isn’t set to go off until 7:00 or 8:00 a.m. They aren’t going to wait for sleepy humans. They sing as soon as they wake up and the day starts.

What do birds do on rainy days when it isn’t nice outside? They wait for the sun to come out so they can sing again.

Have a good day,

Eric

How to Become Happy

Posted on May 24, 2008. Filed under: Happiness, Inspirational, Life, You | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

Happiness must come from within. Happiness is coming to terms with oneself, acceptance. Happiness comes after becomes comfortable with oneself and is content with their position in life.

Getting Happiness:

A person cannot get happiness externally; money and things do not make a person happy. A person with nothing can be truly happy. A person with much wealth is not necessarily happy. One cannot expect happiness. Happiness cannot be forced. One cannot make oneself happy out of pure will; one must become happy. Happiness is an achieved state.

Happiness must be earned. It cannot be bought, or given; it must be acquired. You cannot go to a store, buy a box of happy, consume it and then instantly feel happy. It does not work that way.

Happiness cannot be forced; it must be welcomed. You must allow yourself to be happy. You cannot be happy if you are too busy worrying about other stuff or trying to get something you don’t have. Becoming happy takes time. Don’t expect it right away. It is a lifestyle, a process. It does not occur instantly. Becoming happy comes with practice.

Becoming Happy:

Happiness is not complicated. You do not need a high-tech solution. Happiness is being comfortable with yourself, with what you’ve got, with your position in life.

Look at what you’ve got. Be thankful. Be happy with it. Get rid of what you don’t want. Don’t try to become happy by getting more of something, try to become happy by getting less of something. Figure out what it is that you want. It does not have to be an object, but it could be a place to live, a thing to do, a feeling, etc. That is what happiness is. This is how to become happy.

Don’t wait, start being happy now. Enjoy life while it lasts.

Eric 🙂

Let’s Talk About Happiness

Posted on May 23, 2008. Filed under: Happiness, Inspirational, Life, You | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

Everybody is looking for happiness, but some are looking in the wrong places. Some will never find it, while others know where to look. Happiness is doing and having what you want. Happiness comes from within. Happiness is being and doing, not wanting. There is no happiness in being the mule who perpetually chases the carrot.

One who is happy is at peace with themself and the rest of the world. They are free from want and are content with what they have. The only thing they want is to continue the current feeling of happiness and not disturb it.

Happiness is:

  • Enjoying life. Being glad to be alive. Looking forward and smiling.
  • Doing what one enjoys, what gives them pleasure.
  • Doing what one strongly believes in and having no regrets or second thoughts about it. It is total commitment and dedication. Rewarding. A sense of purpose. Doing something that they believe they should be doing.
